Junior Golf Program

Golf is a fantastic sport to learn at any age, but like any sport, taking it up early can lead to a lifetime of enjoyment.

Life lessons learned on a golf course carry forward for the rest of their lives. Golf teaches are role models who focus on great character qualities with their teaching. Honesty, integrity, confidence, being humble and the ability to overcome obstacles are just a few of the great lessons to be learned with the game.

Golf may be played at any age, and is a great way for families to spend time together having fun.
Here are more reasons to try golf:

  1. Socialization - Enrolling your child into a Schaumburg Junior Golf Program or the PGA Junior League will introduce him or her to like-minded children with similar interests. This creates a great opportunity to make new friends while sharing a common passion. The friendships that are developed may last a lifetime on and off the course.
  2. Physical Fitness - Playing 9-holes of golf will burn more than 300 calories with a player walking about two miles! Swinging a golf club burns calories and builds strength. Golf also works on coordination and other fine motor skills.
  3. Mental - Golf is physical, but playing the game well requires a strong mental attitude. Golf brings in many elements that are out of a players’ control, such as wind and rain, so it requires an enormous amount of mental focus. Golf forces you to focus on task at hand and can build confidence as your child improves.
  4. It’s Fun! - Participating in one of our many junior golf programs allows your child to develop their game in a fun learning environment. During each class, our instructors focus on safety and fun during each class.

The Schaumburg Junior Golf Program is a developmental program for juniors ages 5-12. Registration is limited to 10 students per session to ensure students learn at their own speed and are given maximum individual attention. Students are taught the fundamentals of the golf swing including proper grip, body alignment and posture. The program is administered by the Schaumburg Golf Academy. Registration for all classes begins Friday, April 8.
