While Schaumburg may be best known for the grand shopping experience at Woodfield Mall, golfers know Schaumburg for a different reason – Schaumburg Golf Club. Rated Four Stars by Golf Digest in 2008, Schaumburg Golf Club offers golfers all the amenities of a country club setting at public course prices.
Originally built in 1928, the course was purchased by the Schaumburg Park District in 1989 and renovated by renowned golf architect Bob Lohmann. The 27-hole course has hosted U.S Open Qualifying, Illinois State Amateur Qualifying, Illinois Open Qualifying, Chicago District Golf Association Mid-Am Championship, IPGA Pro-Junior Championship, Links Technology Cup, The Daily Herald Shootout and King of the Hill Twosome Championship.
The 27-hole championship design offers players a chance to experience a different round every time out. Our players enjoy their rounds on the Tournament Nine, Players Nine and Baer Nine. The course features manicured bent grass tees, fairways and greens; undulating terrain and generous playing conditions that allow for the course to be played from 6,097 to 6,700 yards.
Along with a well-manicured course, SGC offers a full-service practice facility. The full-swing practice facility is available with a grass tee and mats. Two putting greens are available to improve your short game.
Schaumburg Golf Club also offers The Academy, a professional teaching service recognized by the readers of Chicagoland Golfer as having one of the best staffs in the area. Certified instructors are available seven days a week and will customize a program specific to your game. Teaching is offered in private or group format. Private instructional practice areas including a putting green, practice bunker and pitching area add to the high-quality learning environment that is free from distractions.
The Schaumburg Golf Club has an elegantly-appointed Frank Lloyd Wright, prairie-style clubhouse with a complete array of amenities, including a full-service pro shop, banquet halls, meeting rooms, locker rooms and restaurant.
