The Academy at Schaumburg Golf Club provides the ultimate setting for quality instruction. Our PGA professionals will teach you the methods to take your game to the next level and knock down your handicap.

The Academy coaches use a private teaching range, two putting greens, and a practice chipping and bunker area. Instruction in playing and course management takes place on SGC’s 27-hole championship course.

We continue to refine our programs to meet your needs. The golf clinics cover various topics throughout the season. Find the clinics best suited to your needs or work privately with any of our Academy coaches. Sessions may include club fitting, video analysis, full swing or tune-up sessions. Our teaching philosophy is simple, "fun"-damental, and proven to have a lasting impact on your game.

Player Development Series

The Player Development Series is designed for a serious player wanting to take his or her game to the next level. Private Lessons

Group Lessons

Ever wanted to take a lesson with a friend? Here is an easy way to learn about your golf game in a comfortable environment. Each session is one hour in length and personally designed to meet the needs of each group. Sign-up is exclusively at Schaumburg Golf Course. Call the Pro Shop at 885-9000 for details.

Co-Rec Adult Group Golf Lessons

These lesson are a perfect way to get started or just hone your skills. Four weeks will be spent reviewing the fundamentals of putting, chipping, pitching and a concentrated analysis of your full swing. The fifth week will be a fun round at Walnut Greens Golf Course in a scramble format. The Thursday class will play the Tuesday following your fourth week at Walnut Greens. Bring your golf clubs to the first session. Clubs may be borrowed if necessary.

Adult Group Instruction

Level I
This is a class for beginners. The series provides basic golf knowledge about the rules, safety, and equipment, navigating the course, golf etiquette and keeping score. Learn the fundamentals of putting, chipping and full swing. Classes meet for three one-hour sessions, and golf clubs are available for those who need them. The first class meets at the Schaumburg Golf Shop. Please register in the Golf Shop.

Cost $60 or $120 per session. Sessions run 9-10AM. 10 golfers max.

Level II
This class is geared toward beginners to intermediate players with a 20+ handicap. Fundamentals covered are posture, grip, alignment and ball position with an emphasis on putting, chipping and development of the full swing. Classes meet for three one-hour sessions. The first class meets at the Schaumburg Golf Shop. Please register in the Golf Shop.

Cost $60 or $120 per session. Sessions run 9-10AM. 10 golfers max.

Level III
This class is designed for intermediate players with a 10-20 handicap. Emphasis is on a comprehensive understanding of the full swing and fundamentals of playing woods and irons. All students will learn why they miss certain shots and acquire the knowledge to make self-corrections. Classes meet for three one-hour sessions. The first class meets at the Schaumburg Golf Shop. Please register in the Golf Shop.
